Web-based kids¡¯ character bland iloveegg is about to launch a pocket mony line of ¡°danglers¡± to be dispensed from vending machines.
Coolabi has signed the vending deal that will see 5,000 machines stocked in outlets such as Sainsbury¡¯s, Odeon cinemas and Woolworths in the UK and across 25,000 outlets throughout Europe with Tomy Yujin.
Coolabi represents the license for the Korean-based owner of iloveegg, Peoplesign. Already available are O2 animated downloads and posters in retail outlets.
However, Coolabi believe the iloveegg dangling characters will give a huge push to the brand and set off another playground craze. They can be attached to mobile phones or bags.
Tomy Yujin is now finalizing details of which iloveegg characters will be selected for the initial launch.
Tomy Yujin European sales and licensing manager Morgan Weyl said ¡°Kids are going to go for them straightaway. Even if the licence isn¡¯t that well known at the moment, kids are going to see them as very cool and very collectable.¡±
The company is also looking at developing a second wave of iloveegg football character in national colours to coincide with the 2006 World Cup Finals in June.
